THE TITAN GAMES wasn’t THE MASKED SINGER, but it’ll do.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary live+same day key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
NBC: THE TITAN GAMES premiered at 1.8, a very solid number if not the equal of MASKED SINGER’s final 3.0. With that lead-in, the season premiere of THE BLACKLIST was up 0.2 from last May’s season finale to 0.9 (down 0.2 from the last season premiere), but the show will face its real test when it airs in its new timeslot tonight.
CBS: THE BIG BANG THEORY returned from its holiday hiatus up 0.1 to 2.2, and YOUNG SHELDON was similarly up 0.1 to 1.7. After an hour of sitcom reruns at 1.1/0.9, SWAT returned at 0.9, up 0.2 from its last airing.
FOX: GOTHAM’s season premiere was up 0.1 from last May’s finale to 0.7 (down 0.3 from last season’s premiere). THE ORVILLE, though, hit a new low 0.6, down half a point from last season’s Thursday premiere, down 0.3 from its Season 1 finale, and down 0.9 from Sunday’s post-NFL premiere.
ABC: After sitcom reruns at 0.7/0.6, THE LAST DAYS OF JOHN F. KENNEDY JR was at 0.7.
CW: Reruns at 0.2/0.2.
All the networks except CW return to new regular programming tonight, including as noted the new timeslot premiere of THE BLACKLIST on NBC.
COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 live+same day ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
