NETWORK FINALS:  ABC’s FALL PREVIEW promo special dropped 0.2 in final numbers, but its COLLEGE FOOTBALL game held its preliminary 1.5.

CABLE HIGHLIGHTS:  On a very unusual night dominated by hurricane updates, Starz’s POWER was the top-rated scripted show of the night, but down a mighty 0.22 from last week’s premiere to 0.34, with lead-out POWER CONFIDENTIAL down 0.09 to 0.17.  AMC’s FEAR THE WALKING DEAD fell 0.14 to 0.29, and PREACHER was down 0.04 to 0.08.  On HBO, BALLERS held comparatively well, down 0.06 to 0.17, with THE RIGHTEOUS GEMSTONES down 0.07 to 0.15, and SUCCESSION down 0.05 to 0.11.  Hallmark’s CHESAPEAKE SHORES lost 0.04 to 0.17.  FX’s THE WEEKLY actually ticked up to 0.10.  Showtime was off the chart, with THE AFFAIR down 0.03 to 0.04/417K, and ON BECOMING A GOD IN CENTRAL FLORIDA at 0.03/216K compared to last week’s 0.02/173K & 0.01/138K.  

The hurricane couldn’t stop TLC’s 90 DAY FIANCE, down just 0.08 to 0.78, with UNEXPECTED down 0.15 to 0.33.  The Weather Channel counted each hour of its coverage as a separate telecast, with a 4PM peak at 0.41.  NBC Sports Net’s NASCAR race was at 0.34.  On Bravo, REAL HOUSEWIVES OF THE POTOMAC slipped 0.02 to 0.29, and MARRIED TO MEDICINE was at 0.15.  ID’s EVIL LIVES HERE shed 0.02 to 0.24.  On Discovery, ALASKAN BUSH PEOPLE dropped 0.06 to 0.24, SERENGETI fell 0.08 to 0.23, and RAISING WILD was down 0.03 to 0.14.  Food Network’s WORST COOKS IN AMERICA dipped 0.07 to 0.24, and GOOD EATS was at 0.21/0.19 compared to last week’s 0.24/0.21.  HGTV’s line-up was led by ISLAND HUNTERS, down 0.02 to 0.23.  MTV’s RIDICULOUSNESS was down 0.02 to 0.17.
