The WORLD SERIES didn’t disrupt the other networks very much.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary live+same day key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
FOX: The preliminary 2.9 for Game 1 of THE WORLD SERIES was down half a point from last year’s early number, but in fairness that match-up featured marquee teams from Los Angeles and Boston. This year’s rating was steady with the early number in 2017.
ABC: IT’S THE GREAT PUMPKIN, CHARLIE BROWN was up 0.1 to 1.2 compared to last year’s midweek airing (on a Thursday), and TOY STORY OF TERROR rose 0.2 to 1.0. MIXED-ISH (0.7) and BLACK-ISH (0.7) each gained 0.1. A DOUGLAS DYNASTY special was at 0.5, on par with EMERGENCE.
CBS: NCIS was steady at 1.1, FBI slipped 0.1 to 0.8, and NCIS: NEW ORLEANS held at 0.7.
NBC: THE VOICE was steady at 1.3, while both THIS IS US (1.6) and NEW AMSTERDAM (0.9) were up 0.1.
CW: THE FLASH (0.5) and ARROW (0.3) were steady.
The WORLD SERIES continues tonight, and ABC preempts STUMPTOWN for a HARRY & MEGHAN: AN AFRICAN JOURNEY special.
COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 live+same day ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
