Projected weekly network ratings in prime time (based on four days of official nationals and three days of fast nationals).  ABC wins the week, thanks to two NBA Finals games on Thursday and Sunday.  The NBA Finals started a week later on the calendar last year (the week June 11-17, 2012) and that week contained the first three Final games on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.  (ABC hit a 3.17 rating for the week of June 11 last year.)  So this past week for ABC is a lot better than a typical summer week with no NBA but not nearly as strong as the comparable week last year, which had one more game at higher ratings per game.  NBC continues to over-perform last week and the same week last year with The Voice continuing deep into June and America’s Got Talent starting this past week.  With nothing compelling on either network currently, FOX and CBS are similar to last week’s numbers but well off the pace of the same week last year.

Adult 18-49 Prime Time Rating
THIS WEEK Same Week Last Year Last Week
June 3-9, 2013 June 4-10, 2012 % chg May 27-June 2, 2013 % chg
ABC 2.09 1.17 +79% 1.05 +99%
NBC 1.53 1.33 +15% 1.42 +8%
FOX 1.22 1.55 -21% 1.27 -4%
CBS 1.02 1.10 -7% 1.00 +2%
4-net 5.87 5.15 +14% 4.74 +24%

So with two weeks of summer ratings in the books, ABC is showing a nice lead over last year’s pace (although that lead is almost completely a function of the NBA Finals starting earlier this year).  NBC has a slight lead because of The Voice running beyond May (although it is somewhat surprising the lead is not greater).  FOX and CBS are struggling, and I don’t think Under the Dome is going to be the answer to CBS’s prayers.

Summer to Date May 27-June 9
18-49 Rating vs Last Year
ABC 1.57 +27%
NBC 1.48 +5%
FOX 1.25 -9%
CBS 1.01 -8%
