Despite a bit of last-minute disruption from the new Royal Baby, the night still belonged to Under the Dome.
CBS: UNDER THE DOME ticked up slightly. Dome‘s adult 18-49 rating episode track so far: 3.3…2.9…2.7…2.7… preliminary 2.8. Prior to that, 2 BROKE GIRLS and MIKE & MOLLY reruns tied for the non-Dome night’s lead with 1.2s.
NBC: At the last minute, NBC replaced an original Siberia (1.1…0.9…0.8 track the first three weeks) with a thrown-together DATELINE: THE LITTLE PRINCE, which delivered a 1.0 rating (a touch better than Siberia would have done) but still a weak third place in the hour and NBC’s lowest show of the night. Even if one cared that a royal baby was born, the news value had long since evaporated by 10PM ET last night. The special followed AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR’s 1.6 (even with last week) and GET OUT ALIVE‘s 1.4 (up 0.1).
ABC: THE BACHELORETTE was up slightly to 1.9, and then MISTRESSES rose 0.2 to 1.2, possibly because of the lack of scripted competition on NBC.
CW: The season premiere of BREAKING POINTE could only tie the 0.2 that its lead-in, a HART OF DIXIE rerun, had managed. That was down 0.1 from last season’s premiere, although what the show is doing back after those kinds of numbers last season is anyone’s guess.
FOX: Reruns, highlighted by 0.8 for RAISING HOPE.
All the networks except CBS have at least some fresh unscripted programming tonight. It’s ABC’s turn for a Royal Baby preemption, as a special 20/20 hosted by Barbara Walters airs at 10PM (replacing a repeat Body of Proof). Unless ABC News has acquired hidden camera footage from the delivery room, tonight’s special isn’t likely to rate much better than Body‘s 0.6 average the last three weeks.
