THE SKED NETWORK SCORECARD – 1/27/14

Viewers really wanted to see the Mother‘s side of the story.

Daily Comparison 2014 Mon Jan 27 three way

CBS:  The 200th episode of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, told from the Mother character’s point of view, leaped 0.7 to a season high 3.8, and seemed to perk up the network’s entire line-up.  (CBS is so going to miss Mother next fall.)  2 BROKE GIRLS was up 0.3 to 3.0, MIKE & MOLLY gained 0.5 to 2.6, MOM rose 0.5 to 2.4, and even lowly INTELLIGENCE increased 0.4 to 1.5.  The network will soon be facing the Olympics and then the return of The Voice on Mondays, but for one night it was all rosy.

NBC:  HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT scored 1.5/1.3 in its back-to-back episodes, which oddly enough was the exact reverse of last week’s 1.3/1.5.  THE BLACKLIST, facing a rerun on ABC, rose 0.2 to 2.5.

ABC:  THE BACHELOR was up 0.2 to 2.5, and then the CASTLE rerun was at 1.4.

FOX:  Somebody was due to get bad news last night, and it was FOX:  THE FOLLOWING, in its first regular timeslot airing of the season, lost more than half the rating it had after its post-NFC Championship perch, and hit a series low 2.0, 0.4 below last week’s Sleepy Hollow finale.  It doesn’t bode well for future weeks where the competition on NBC will be much stronger, although FOX can console itself a bit that the night’s lead-in (a rerun of the post-football Following season debut) was only 1.1.

CW:  HART OF DIXIE and BEAUTY & THE BEAST were both even at 0.4/0.3.

The entertainment divisions will mostly take the night off for President Obama’s STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS, although CW will be new, and there are fresh episodes of THE BIGGEST LOSER on NBC and DADS on FOX.
