AFTERNOON UPDATE: I don’t follow DANCING WITH THE STARS, so can’t opine on what they did right last night. But the show’s 0.2 bump in final numbers (after adjustment for ABC’s Portland preemption) put the show up 0.4 from last week, with 2.6 rating that was just 0.4 below THE VOICE. CASTLE also benefited from the adjustments, up 0.1 from this morning. On CBS, 2 BROKE GIRLS climbed 0.1. THE TOMORROW PEOPLE gained 0.1 at CW. NBC stayed as-is, despite the 10:01PM start for THE BLACKLIST, as did FOX.
MONDAY CABLE: Sports remained on top of Monday’s cable scores, with the NBA PLAYOFF games on TNT at 1.8/1.4 (wait till tonight’s Clippers game) and WWE (USA) at 1.7-1.8 over its 3 hours, up 0.2 from last week. THE BOONDOCKS (Adult Swim) took a big hit from last week’s premiere, down half a point to 1.0. (The 2AM re-airing, however, added 0.6, steady with last week for that run.) BATES MOTEL (A&E) rose 0.1 to 0.9. FAST N LOUD (Discovery) climbed 0.3 to 1.2. There was some shifting in the VH1 line-up, with BASKETBALL WIVES at 1.1 (even), BLACK INK CREW at 1.1 (up 0.1), T.I. & TINY at 1.0 (up 0.1) and THIS IS HOT 97 at 0.5 (down 0.1). SWAMP PEOPLE (History) was at 0.9, up 0.1.
The night was generally up from last Monday’s dismal results.
CBS: All the original sitcoms climbed: 2 BROKE GIRLS by 0.1 to 2.2, FRIENDS WITH BETTER LIVES by 0.2 to 1.9, and MIKE & MOLLY by 0.3 to 2.2. The night concluded with reruns of THE BIG BANG THEORY (1.7) and PERSON OF INTEREST (0.9).
NBC: THE VOICE held at 3.0, but THE BLACKLIST slipped 0.1 to 2.7. However, Blacklist began at 10:01PM, so those numbers may shift a bit.
FOX: After 0.9 for a BONES rerun, the season finale of THE FOLLOWING managed an 0.1 uptick to 1.5.
ABC: DANCING WITH THE STARS was up 0.2 to 2.4, and CASTLE was up 0.1 to 1.9, but local sports preemptions may change those numbers.
CW: As of now, STAR-CROSSED and THE TOMORROW PEOPLE are both even with last week’s 0.3s–however, since local preemptions included the NY market, these numbers are very tentative.
All the networks are new tonight. On cable, USA debuts its 2d effort at an original half-hour with back-to-back episodes of PLAYING HOUSE.
