UPDATED: THE SKED CABLE/NETWORK SUNDAY SCORECARD – 5/25/14

NETWORK UPDATE:  The only change from preliminary numbers was a 0.1 gain for the NASCAR race on FOX.

SATURDAY CABLE:  On BBC America, ORPHAN BLACK was up very slightly to 0.25, with follow-up IN THE FLESH barely registering at 0.03.  ESPN dominated the night with a 2.7 for its NBA PLAYOFFS game.

SUNDAY CABLE:  The holiday weekend and the preemption of the HBO and Bravo line-ups didn’t change much at the other networks from other weeks.  On HBO itself, THE NORMAL HEART skewed very old, with just a 0.26 rating in 18-49s on 950K total viewers (it had a 0.7 rating with women over 50 and 0.5 with men of that age).  That was nowhere near last year’s HBO Memorial Day Sunday movie BEHIND THE CANDELABRA, which had a 0.7 18-49 rating and 2.4M total viewers, so somewhere Liberace is smiling.  The season finale of MAD MEN (AMC) stayed at 0.7, with the season’s next-to-last TURN remaining at 0.3.  DEVIOUS MAIDS (Lifetime) was also steady at 0.6.  On Showtime, PENNY DREADFUL climbed a bit to 0.32, while NURSE JACKIE was at 0.19 and CALIFORNICATION was at a tiny 0.11, which was down for the latter.  SALEM (WGN America) stayed low at 0.15.  Back in the realm of bigger numbers, TNT’s NBA PLAYOFF game was at 2.5, with the NHL PLAYOFFS on NBC Sports Network at 0.5.

NBC:  BELIEVE and CRISIS have been canceled, and here’s why:  both returned from several weeks off to burn off their remaining episodes, and both fell 0.3 to series low 0.7s.  They were preceded by the series finale of AMERICAN DREAM BUILDERS, down 0.1 to s series low 0.4.

FOX:  NASCAR RACING easily won the night at 1.5, down 0.4 from last year’s Memorial Day race.  (Since it was a live telecast, the number will likely be adjusted tomorrow.)

CBS:  Reruns, highlighted by 0.6 for 60 MINUTES.

ABC:  Reruns, highlighted by 1.0 for an 8PM hour of AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS.

Tonight features some original programming, including the season premiere of AMERICAN NINJA WARRIORS on NBC, THE BACHELORETTE on ABC, MASTER CHEF and 24 on FOX, and FRIENDS WITH BETTER LIVES and 48 HOURS on CBS.
