SHOWBUZZDAILY’s Top 25 Sunday Cable Originals: 9.21.2014

 

NETWORK UPDATE:  MADAM SECRETARY stayed put, but THE GOOD WIFE gained 0.1 in final numbers, as did the final FOX episode of AMERICAN DAD (it’s moving to TBS).  60 MINUTES lost 0.1.  SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL adjusted up 0.6 to 7.8.

Ratings in key demos for the Top 25 original cable telecasts Sunday (plus a few other lower-rated but noteworthy programs):

THE STRAIN (FX) continued feasting on SUNDAY CABLE, up 0.4 from last week to 1.08.  BOARDWALK EMPIRE took a huge jump (for unclear reasons), up 0.23 from last week’s season premiere to 0.93, and LAST WEEK TONIGHT gained 0.07 to 0.37.  On Showtime, RAY DONOVAN lost a tenth to 0.56, and MASTERS OF SEX dropped 0.08 to 0.22.  On Lifetime, WITCHES OF EAST END climbed 0.07 to 0.52, while THE LOTTERY was up half a tenth to 0.23.  MANHATTAN (WGNAmerica), though at still-miniscule numbers, had its 2d consecutive up week, by 0.02 to 0.09.  On Adult Swim, new episodes of MR. PICKLES (0.64) and SQUIDBILLIES (0.56) scored well.  On the unscripted end, NAKED AND AFRAID (Discovery) zoomed by two-tenths to 0.94, taking the night’s lead in that genre from REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NEW JERSEY (Bravo), which was also up, by 0.06 to 0.89.  NASCAR SPRINT CUP (ESPN) lost 0.09 to 0.76.  RACHAEL VS GUY (Food) grew by 0.13 to 0.65.
