SHOWBUZZDAILY SUNDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 10.12.2014

ABC’s Sunday started to tumble last night.

DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment) Sunday, the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).

Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.

ABC:  The FROZEN-themed storyline on ONCE UPON A TIME seems to be losing its appeal, as the show dropped half a ratings point last night to 2.6.  (Note:  comparisons are to last week’s preliminary numbers, not to the network’s now-suspect adjusted ratings.)  RESURRECTION fell 0.4 to 1.4, barely ahead of THE GOOD WIFE (and with half the total viewers).  REVENGE lost 0.1 to 1.2.

FOX:  The network had the late national NFL game, which gave it a preliminary 8.3 in the first half-hour of the night.  That lingered to the extent that THE SIMPSONS was up 1.3 from last week to 3.3, and BROOKLYN NINE-NINE rose 0.5 to 2.1.  For whatever reason, FOX aired a rerun FAMILY GUY at 9PM (down 0.2 from last week’s new episode), and MULANEY crept up 0.1 to a still moribund 1.1.

CBS:  Without afternoon football, 60 MINUTES was down 1.2 to 1.3.  MADAM SECRETARY, although increasingly doubtful creatively, was the network’s highest-rated show of the night, down 0.2 to 1.5.  THE GOOD WIFE slipped 0.1 to 1.3, and CSI was up 0.1 to 1.4.

NBC:  A blow-out by Philadelphia over the NY Giants put SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL at 6.0, down 0.9 fro last week’s preliminary rating.

Tonight’s arrival is JANE THE VIRGIN, making its debut on CW.

COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings for Sunday, the same night last year and same night last week.
