SHOWBUZZDAILY’s Top 25 Monday Cable Originals (& Network Update): 4.13.2015

NETWORK UPDATE:  With New York’s baseball game removed from the CW ratings, both THE ORIGINALS and JANE THE VIRGIN fell 0.2 to twin 0.4s.  On NBC, THE VOICE gained 0.1 and THE NIGHT SHIFT fell by the same amount.  In addition, DANCING WITH THE STARS rose 0.1.

Ratings in key demos for the Top 25 original cable telecasts (plus a few other lower-rated but noteworthy programs):

It’s not entirely fair to compare the season premiere of TURN: WASHINGTON’S SPIES with its series premiere last year, which was a 90-minute episode that aired on a Sunday.  (Although it did have to compete with the Season 4 premiere of GAME OF THRONES.)  Still, there’s not much good to say about a show that fell from 0.53 in its 2014 premiere to 0.20 last night.  At the top of Monday cable was USA’s WWE telecast, which at 1.26-1.20 over its 3 hours was considerably below last week’s 1.50-1.14.  VH1’s LOVE & HIP-HOP lost 0.14 to 1.22, and BLACK INK CREW gained 0.05 to 1.04.  On MTV, TEEN MOM was down 0.03 to 0.88, with a 10PM special at 0.46, which gave the 11:30PM TRUE LIFE a 0.12 boost to 0.37.  FAST N LOUD (Discovery) was off 0.03 to 0.79, but MISFIT GARAGE rose 0.03 to 0.64.  On A&E, BATES MOTEL was down a tick to 0.70, and THE RETURNED fell 0.06 to 0.38.  History’s SWAMP PEOPLE remained at 0.67, and RIVERMEN was at 0.35.  SHAHS OF SUNSET dropped 0.12 to 0.42, and SOUTHERN CHARM gained 0.01 to 0.39.  On Logo, RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE rose 0.03 to 0.19, but then (not on the chart) CUCUMBER premiered at 0.02 with 55,000 total viewers, and BANANA followed at 0.006 with 24,000 viewers.
