HEARTBEAT is already having cardiac issues.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
NBC: THE VOICE gave HEARTBEAT at 2.4 lead-in (down 0.3 from last Tuesday), and the 1.4 HEARTBEAT retained suggests low results for tonight’s timeslot premiere. The night ended with a 0.8 CHICAGO FIRE rerun.
CW: The mini-hiatus CW has observed in the middle of its midseason may have made sense for scheduling purposes, but the subpar 1.1 return of THE FLASH (down 0.3 from its last airing in late February) suggests that it was confusing for viewers. IZOMBIE followed at 0.5, down 0.1 from its last new airing.
ABC: FRESH OFF THE BOAT gained 0.1 to 1.2, but THE REAL O’NEALS remained at 1.0. AGENTS OF SHIELD lost 0.1 to 0.9. The substitution of BEYOND THE TANK for the canceled OF KINGS AND PROPHETS may have reduced costs, but it didn’t increase revenues much, as BEYOND’s 0.6 was just 0.1 higher than last week’s final PROPHETS.
CBS: NCIS held at 2.0, while NCIS: NEW ORLEANS bumped up 0.2 to 1.8. LIMITLESS was also up 0.2 to 1.3 (airing against a rerun on NBC).
FOX: Oddly, the only fresh programming of the night was NEW GIRL, steady at 1.0. The rest of the night was reruns, led by 0.8 for BROOKLYN NINE-NINE.
As noted, HEARTBEAT moves to its regular 8PM slot tonight. On cable, TV Land airs the season finale of YOUNGER.
COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
