Madagascar 3 has ballooned to $244 million overseas to date (up from $157 million through last week).  The third Madagascar has now tied the overseas take for the first Madagascar ($244.2 million) and is now gunning for the $423.9 million overseas total for Madagascar 2.

Meanwhile Snow White and the Huntsman had a nice weekly gain to $189 million overseas to date (from $125 million last week).

None of this weekend’s domestic openers (Ted, Magic Mike, Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Witness Protection and People Like Us) opened overseas, but Ice Age: Continental Drift ($78 million overseas in 34 territories at 9,505 theaters) and The Amazing Spider-Man ($50 million overseas in 13 territories and 6,068 theaters) got started early elsewhere in advance of their domestic openings on July 13 and July 3, respectively.  Ted is the only new film this weekend with any international potential, probably somewhere around $135 million overseas (between the foreign totals of $119 million for Bridesmaids and $190 million for The Hangover).
