INTERNATIONAL BOX OFFICE through July 29

Overseas box office for The Dark Knight Rises has risen to $248 million to date, up from $88 million at this time last week.  The ultimate overseas number could hit $490 million, up somewhat from $469 million for The Dark Knight.  If our projected domestic total for Rises is correct, the worldwide total will be around $930 million, somewhat behind $1.002 billion for The Dark Knight.

Ice Age: Continental Drift continues a terrific run around the world, now up to $511 million overseas (up from $440 million last week).  The fourth Ice Age should zoom past $700 million worldwide soon, in an attempt to push past The Amazing Spider-Man.

New this weekend, The Watch and Step Up Revolution join the chart below toward the bottom of the ranking, where the two films will stay in weeks to come.
