Paranormal Activity 4 opened this weekend with $27 million overseas from 33 markets, on its way to an estimated $110 million total overseas and a weak $67 million total domestic (according to ShowbuzzDaily projections).  That would give PA4 a worldwide total of $177 million, tied with PA2 as the lowest in the still-very-profitable franchise.

The biggest gainer overseas this past week was Taken 2 (up a great $42 million to $174 million overseas to date).  Eventually, the worldwide total for Taken 2 should end up around $350 million, up substantially from $227 million for Taken in January 2009.  Although the domestic total for Taken 2 is slightly lower ($145 million for Taken and a projected $133 million for Taken 2), the overseas gross has rocketed from $82 million for Taken to $174 million and counting for Taken 2 (probably $210 million overseas total eventually).

Hotel Transylvania and Ted also continue to do nice business overseas.
