NETWORK UPDATE:  BIG BROTHER and the 60 MINUTES rerun each gained 0.1 in final numbers, while BATTLEBOTS lost 0.1.

CABLE HIGHLIGHTS:  Discovery’s NAKED AND AFRAID was Sunday’s top cable show with a 1.23 rating, which was up an impressive 0.35 from its last airing 2 weeks ago.  Its NAKED AND AFRAID: WELCOME lead-in was at 0.87, and the night started with SHARK ISLAND at 0.73.  (The TIBURONES airing at 7PM appears to be a rerun, although once again Discovery didn’t list it that way.)  On HBO, TRUE DETECTIVE eased off by 0.07 to 1.08, with the newly-renewed BALLERS up 0.06 to 0.84, the conspicuously not-yet-renewed THE BRINK down 0.12 to 0.39, and LAST WEEK TONIGHT (returning after a week off) at 0.41.  THE STRAIN returned to FX, and although its 0.78 was a strong number, it was far below last year’s 1.18 series premiere rating, and also a substantial step down from the 0.97 season finale.  Also returning were Showtime’s RAY DONOVAN and MASTERS OF SEX:  DONOVAN’s 0.32 was 0.05 below last year’s premiere, and MASTERS’ 0.13 was disastrously down from 2014’s 0.32.  VH1 aired an out-of-timeslot LOVE & HIP-HOP ATLANTA with a 0.91 rating as lead-in for BASKETBALL WIVES LA, which started the season at a robust 0.99.  On TNT, THE LAST SHIP gained 0.02 to 0.69, but FALLING SKIES dropped 0.07 to 0.37.  At AMC, HUMANS rebounded by 0.12 to 0.44 from last week’s drop, but HALT AND CATCH FIRE was only able to hold onto its 0.17.  FOOD NETWORK STAR fell 0.16 to 0.55, with GUYS GROCERY GAMES down 0.05 to 0.36.  BAR RESCUE (Spike) dropped 0.06 to 0.52.  E!’s BOTCHED lost 0.09 to 0.42, with RICHKIDS OF BEVERLY HILLS steady at 0.25.  MARRIED TO MEDICINE (Bravo) fell 0.07 to 0.37.   BIG BROTHER AFTER DARK (POP) was at 0.06/121K.  There were a couple of requests for micro-rated shows, both on Smithsonian:  MUMMIES ALIVE at 0.01/103K and MILLION DOLLAR INVENTION at 0.01/101K.
