NETWORK UPDATE:  Sunday is one of the few nights without any local football preemptions, so these adjustments are to the Monday preliminary numbers.  Thanks to CBS’s PGA CHAMPIONSHIP coverage as its lead-in, 60 MINUTES retained its preliminary 1.5 rating, and BIG BROTHER rose 0.1 to 2.1.  The MADAM SECRETARY rerun, however, lost 0.1 to 0.6. 

CABLE HIGHLIGHTS:  HBO put its “prestige” hat on for the short late-August run of David Simon’s SHOW ME A HERO, and as often happens with Simon’s critically acclaimed shows, viewers largely stayed away, giving the opening 2 hours a 0.15 rating in 18-49s.  That’s far lower than TRUE DETECTIVE had been doing in the slot, which probably helped push BALLERS down by a tenth to 0.77, although THE BRINK recovered and actually gained a hundredth to 0.40, and LAST WEEK TONIGHT rose by 0.07 to 0.45.  On Showtime, RAY DONOVAN was probably helped by the lesser competition on HBO, and it jumped a tenth to 0.54, while MASTERS OF SEX gained 0.02 to 0.17.  TNT’s THE LAST SHIP dropped 0.07 to 0.69, and FALLING SKIES lost a tenth to 0.44.  On FX, THE STRAIN rose 0.03 to 0.60.  The season finale of HUMANS (AMC) lost 0.07 to 0.35. Adult Swim’s RICK & MORTY edged down 0.02 to 0.95, and YOUR PRETTY FACE dropped 0.06 to 0.43.

On the unscripted side, Discovery’s NAKED AND AFRAID was down a tick to 1.13 to win the night.  Sports had 3 slots in the Top 10:  NBC Sports Net’s NASCAR race was at 0.80, NFL Network’s coverage of the day’s Indianapolis vs Philadelphia NFL PRESEASON game was at 0.65, and ESPN’s SUNDAY NIGHT BASEBALL was at 0.57.  FOOD NETWORK STAR was up 0.04 to 0.77, and CUTTHROAT KITCHEN also gained 0.04 to 0.48, with GUY’S GROCERY GAMES at 0.42.  VH1’s BASKETBALL WIVES fell 0.07 to 0.65.  Bravo’s DON’T BE TARDY premiered at 0.56, with lead-in MARRIED TO MEDICINE up 0.06 to 0.44 and lead-out MANZOD WITH CHILDREN at 0.39.  On E!, I AM CAIT ticked down to 0.53, and STEWARTS & HAMILTONS ticked up to 0.14.  BIG BROTHER AFTER DARK (POP) was at 0.06/148K.  Some reader requests:  DAPHNE’S DISHES (Food) at 0.12/653K, DIGIMON (NickToons) at 0.06/238K
