NETWORK FINALS:  SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL adjusted to 6.5, up 0.09 from last week’s game.  SHARK TANK and NCIS: LA gained 0.1 in final numbers, while MADAM SECRETARY lost the same.

CABLE HIGHLIGHTS:  The season premiere of AMC’s THE WALKING DEAD plunged 3.31 from last fall’s premiere to 5.03, and there’s no getting around what a huge drop that is–although in fairness, the Season 7 premiere resolved a huge cliffhanger.  Still, it’s worrisome that the premiere was also down 0.39 from April’s season finale.  Also, WALKING DEAD historically takes a big dip in Week 2 of its seasons (last year it fell 2.27), so we won’t really have a sense of where the season stands until next week.  AMC turned the night into an extravaganza with a 2-hour TALKING DEAD, which was rated in segments as 2.08/1.27, compared to last season’s 2.03.  A special repeat of the season finale with extra new footage was at 1.92.  COMIC BOOK MEN didn’t premiere until after 1AM, and still managed 0.31.  All of this suggests that WALKING DEAD has plenty of ratings, er, life left in it, but its days as a force of nature may be coming to an end.

The next-highest rated scripted show on Sunday cable was Adult Swim’s SQUIDBILLIES, down 0.05 to 0.44, with lead-out THE JELLIES at 0.35.  A Very Big episode of Starz’s OUTLANDER rose 0.07 to 0.41.  On HBO, CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM slipped 0.02 to 0.38, VICE PRINCIPALS was also down 0.02 to 0.28, and THE DEUCE ticked up to 0.27.  Hallmark’s original movie GOOD WITCH SPELLBOUND was at 0.35.  Showtime’s RAY DONOVAN edged up 0.02 to 0.27, and WHITE FAMOUS was at 0.07, compared to last week’s 0.06/0.04.  TNT’s GOOD BEHAVIOR dropped 0.04 to 0.15.

TLC’s 90 DAY FIANCE topped unscripted at 0.58/0.49, compared to last week’s 0.62/0.54, with MY GIANT LIFE down a tick to 0.24.  On E!, KEEPING UP WITH THE KARDASHIANS fell 0.09 to 0.51, and THE PLATINUM LIFE was down 0.08 to 0.16.  NBC Sports Net’s NASCAR race was at 0.42.  On Food Network, HALLOWEEN WARS lost 0.04 to 0.40, and GUY’S GROCERY GAMES held at 0.32.  On Discovery, ALASKA: THE LAST FRONTIER dropped 0.04 to 0.37, and EDGE OF ALASKA ticked down to 0.29.  HGTV’s line-up was led by HAWAII LIFE at 0.26/0.25, compared to last week’s 0.33/0.30.
