NETWORK FINALS:  There were no changes from the preliminary Sunday numbers.

CABLE HIGHLIGHTS:  It’s an awfully high-class problem to complain about a 6.92 rating, higher than any regular programming on cable or broadcast television that isn’t football.  Still, it may be that AMC’s THE WALKING DEAD has peaked, since that season finale rating is a considerable 1.24 below the 2015 season finale.  (And that doesn’t factor in whatever the reaction is going to be to this year’s extremely polarizing ending.)  To paraphrase a line from Citizen Kane, at that rate WALKING DEAD may be canceled… in a decade or so.  The night’s rating was up 1.09 from last week’s episode. TALKING DEAD was up 0.73 from last week to 3.07, but also down 0.79 from last year’s post-finale airing.  COMIC BOOK MEN was up a more modest 0.05 from last week to 0.45.

In non-AMC news, Showtime’s SHAMELESS also aired its season finale, up a tenth from last week to 0.66, which is down 0.05 from the 2015 finale, an excellent hold for a show in its 6th season. BILLIONS, which has its finale this week, lost a tick to 0.33, and THE CIRCUS fell 0.02 to 0.06.  At HBO, VINYL slipped 0.02 to 0.20, GIRLS gained 0.02 to 0.28, TOGETHERNESS ticked down to 0.11, and the current line-up’s heavyweight, LAST WEEK TONIGHT, returned from a week off at 0.37.  On Bravo, REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA rose 0.08 to 1.21, and the finale of REAL HOUSEWIVES OF THE POTOMAC was up 0.03 to 0.72, with THICKER THAN WATER down 0.02 to 0.46.  MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL started its season on ESPN with 0.99 for the Mets vs. Royals game, and 0.73 for St. Louis vs. Pittsburgh.  Fox Sports 1’s NASCAR race was at 0.94.  Discovery’s NAKED & AFRAID ticked down to 0.74.  Adult Swim’s ROBOT CHICKEN dropped 0.14 to 0.55.  USA aired a WWE special at 0.55.  National Geographic’s STORY OF GOD was at 0.43.  On Spike, BAR RESCUE was down a hundredth to 0.42, and LIFE OR DEBT fell 0.07 to 0.17.  The IHEARTRADIO MUSIC AWARDS aired on several Turner networks, with 0.42 on TNT, 0.36 on TBS, and 0.10 on Tru.  On Food Network, ALL-STAR ACADEMY held at 0.36, and GUY’S GROCERY GAMES dropped 0.04 to 0.32, with CUTTHROAT KITCHEN up a tick to 0.29.  On TLC, LONG LOST FAMILY fell a tenth to 0.27, with lead-in WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE at 0.19.  On A&E, HOARDERS gained 0.03 to 0.25.  Hallmark’s WHEN CALLS THE HEART rose 0.06 to 0.25.  On E!, HOLLYWOOD MEDIUM dropped 0.04 to 0.23, and I AM CAIT lost 0.03 to 0.20.
