NETWORK FINALS:  The BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS adjusted up to 3.2 when the live west coast airing was adjusted into the number, but that was still a long way from last year’s 3.8.  The same adjustments pushed AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS down 0.2.  In addition, UNDERCOVER BOSS and the season finale of THE SIMPSONS gained 0.1.

CABLE HIGHLIGHTS:  The super-hyped premiere of AMC’s PREACHER wasn’t much better than OK at 0.90, considering that it was coming off a 1.88 lead-in from FEAR THE WALKING DEAD (down 0.06 from last week) and that PREACHER, unlike DEAD, didn’t have to face GAME OF THRONES.  AMC is making a risky scheduling move by skipping next week with a rerun of the pilot (followed by a special TALKING PREACHER after-show), and not resuming new episodes until June 5, when it will move to 9PM and have to face 4 weeks of THRONES.  That could make for a tough road ahead.  Because of the PREACHER premiere, TALKING DEAD didn’t air until 11:30PM, and it plunged 0.27 to 0.38.  

Back in Westeros, GAME OF THRONES is remarkably consistent, up 0.04 from last week to 3.96, and the only reason that number may falter next week is because HBO is ignoring the holiday weekend and airing a fresh episode.  SILICON VALLEY slipped 0.06 to 0.94, and VEEP was down 0.04 to 0.42, with LAST WEEK TONIGHT down a tick to 0.57.  As usual, the other pay networks were far behind. On Showtime, the now-canceled HOUSE OF LIES dropped 0.04 to 0.10, and the network ran a rerun of the same episode as lead-in to PENNY DREADFUL, which endured the double-whammy of a rerun lead-in and PREACHER quite well, losing only 0.02 to 0.17.  Starz’s THE GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE held at 0.06.  Adult Swim didn’t air a ROBOT CHICKEN, and MIKE TYSON MYSTERIES gained 0.03 to 0.63, with MR PICKLES steady at 0.49.  Hallmark’s GOOD WITCH remained at 0.23.  USA’s MOTIVE took a heavy 0.09 hit to 0.18.

The unscripted world was of course led by the NBA PLAYOFFS, with a 3.11 for TNT’s coverage of the Golden State vs. Oklahoma City game.  As TNT has been doing throughout the series, it followed the game with an episode of THE DUNK KING at 0.76.  On E!, KEEPING UP WITH THE KARDASHIANS fell 0.11 to 0.73, and RICH KIDS OF BEVERLY HILLS was down 0.07 to 0.26.  Discovery’s NAKED & AFRAID lost 0.06 to 0.71.  On Bravo, SHAHS OF SUNSET held at 0.46, and THICKER THAN WATER was down 0.02 to 0.24.  On Food Network, FOOD NETWORK STAR lost 0.05 to 0.43, FN STAR: COMEBACK KITCHEN was at 0.40, and CUTTHROAT KITCHEN edged down 0.02 to 0.32.  On Spike, BAR RESCUE dropped 0.08 to 0.36, and LIFE OR DEBT fell by almost half, down 0.13 to 0.14.  On TLC, SISTER WIVES was down 0.08 to 0.35, SINGLE DAD SEEKING lost 0.03 to 0.20, and CATCHING THE CATFISHER was at 0.19.
