NETWORK FINALS:  TO TELL THE TRUTH lost 0.1 in final numbers, while the rerun of THE SIMPSONS gained the same.

Broadcast Official Nationals Program Ratings Chart  

CABLE HIGHLIGHTS:  HBO’s SHARP OBJECTS got off to an encouraging start at 0.45, up 0.14 from last year’s premiere of BIG LITTLE LIES.  LIES went on to do something rare, steadily rising until it more than doubled its premiere with a 0.66 finale, and we’ll see if OBJECTS can show similar appeal.  Lead-out SUCCESSION rose 0.03 to 0.20.  On Showtime, the season finale of I’M DYING UP HERE stayed off the chart and fell a tick to 0.03/162K, with lead-in THE AFFAIR down 0.03 to 0.09.  

The oddest cable news of the night requires some explanation.  While the 8PM premiere airing of Starz’s POWER fell a whopping 0.34 from last week’s season opener to 0.28, the 9PM re-airing (which doesn’t appear on our chart) was at 0.51/1.2M, suggesting that POWER fans really prefer a later start time.  (For those about to ask, last week’s 9PM airing was at 0.26/689K, almost the reverse of this week’s proportion.  We’ll keep an eye on that number in the future.)  Elsewhere, TNT’s CLAWS climbed 0.05 to 0.49.  On Adult Swim, ROBOT CHICKEN dropped 0.05 to 0.43, and MOSTLY 4 MILLENIALS was at 0.23/0.20, compared to last week’s 0.29/0.24.  FX’s POSE rose 0.02 to 0.27.  AMC’s PREACHER gained 0.02 to 0.21.  

Sunday cable was dominated by History’s EVEL LIVE special at 0.91.  On TLC, 90 DAY FIANCE was steady at 0.52, followed by a live after-show special at 0.43.  On VH1, a special BASKETBALL WIVES was at 0.50.  On Food Network, FOOD NETWORK STAR gained 0.05 to 0.39, and IRON CHEF AMERICA was up 0.04 to 0.23.  HGTV’s line-up was led by LAKEFRONT BARGAIN HUNT at 0.37/0.33, compared to last week’s 0.30/0.28.  ESPN’s MLB SUNDAY NIGHT game was at 0.32.  E!’s TOTAL BELLAS returned at 0.32, and VERY CAVALLARI premiered at 0.16.  On Bravo, REAL HOUSEWIVES OF THE POTOMAC held at 0.31, KANDI KOATED NIGHTS was down 0.02 to 0.15, and YOUR HUSBAND IS CHEATING ON US was at 0.07.  Discovery’s NAKED & AFRAID fell two-tenths to 0.31.  ID’s AMERICAN MONSTER was at 0.27, and SCENE OF THE CRIME was down 0.03 to 0.24.  Paramount’s BAR RESCUE fell 0.14 to 0.20.
