BROADCAST HIGHLIGHTS:

ABC:  AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS rose 0.14 to 0.53, CELEBRITY FAMILY FEUD ticked up to 0.62, THE CHASE aired a new episode at 0.60, and TO TELL THE TRUTH returned at 0.47. 

CBS:  60 MINUTES ticked down to 0.44, and BIG BROTHER gained a tenth to 1.06.  Reruns followed at 0.31/0.23. 

NBC:  Reruns at 0.27/0.32/0.26.

FOX:  Reruns at 0.13-0.24.

CW:  LEGENDS OF TOMORROW gained 0.a02 to 0.08, and WELLINGTON PARANORMAL held ta 0.02.  The season finale of DEAD PIXELS was steady at 0.02.

CABLE HIGHLIGHTS:  The final season of AMC’s THE WALKING DEAD kicked off at 0.60.  That was down 0.32 from February’s resumption of last season, and down a whopping 0.84 from last season’s premiere in October 2019, a 58% drop.  TALKING DEAD returned at 0.18.

Despite the big fall for WALKING DEAD, it still towered over the rest of Sunday’s scripted cable.  TNT’s ANIMAL KINGDOM climbed 0.05 to 0.23.  On HBO, LAST WEEK TONIGHT gained 0.05 to 0.16, the longform documentary NYC EPICENTERS premiered at 0.05, and the season finale of 100-FOOT WAVE was down 0.02 to 0.04.  Hallmark’s CHESAPEAKE SHORES was steady at 0.08.  On Showtime, GOSSIP premiered to an almost exclusively older audience at zero/117K, with UFO steady at 0.01/196K, THE L WORD: GENERATION Q steady at 0.01/135K, and the season premiere episodes of WORK IN PROGRESS at zero/67K & zero/57K.  (A word about the fluctuation in the L WORD total viewer number compared to last week’s 16K:  at this tiny level of ratings, the number of Nielsen viewers actually watching a show is extremely low, so even a minor change in the numbers received by Nielsen can look huge once it’s through their algorithm.)  Starz’s HEELS dropped a tick to 0.01/103K. 

Sunday cable overall was led by TLC’s 90 DAY FIANCE, up 0.14 to 0.72, with YOU, ME & MY EX up 0.02 to 0.26.  NFL Network’s PRESEASON NFL games were at 0.48/0.46.  NBC Sports Net’s NASCAR race was at 0.39, and its PREMIER LEAGUE match was at 0.30.  On Bravo, REAL HOUSEWIVES OF THE POTOMAC rose 0.06 to 0.36, and SHAHS OF SUNSET up 0.11 to 0.29.  ESPN’s MLB SUNDAY NIGHT game was at 0.23.  Discovery’s NAKED & AFRAID was up 0.07 to 0.23.  On Food Network, BUDDY VS DUFF dropped 0.04 to 0.21, and BATTLE OF THE BROTHERS ticked up to 0.15.  HGTV’s RENOVATION ISLAND dipped 0.03 to 0.19.  On A&E, THE FIRST 48 fell 0.07 to 0.15.  On ID, EVIL LIVES HERE lost 0.05 to 0.12, and ON THE CASE ticked down to 0.10.  History’s MACHINES THAT BUILT AMERICA was down 0.03 to 0.11.
