NETWORK FINALS:  The rerun HOLEY MOLEY lost 0.1 in final numbers.

CABLE HIGHLIGHTS:  CNN’s DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE led Tuesday cable, but comparing it to the first night of June’s debates is somewhat misleading, because the June telecast included NBC as well as MSNBC, guaranteeing it a larger crowd–and also because CNN split the night’s ratings into pieces, with the opening and closing statement portions listed as separate telecasts.  With respect to the 2-hour main section of the debate, CNN’s 1.65/2.08/8.6M was handily ahead of the strictly MSNBC portion in June of 0.85/1.11/5.9M, but far below the combination with NBC (2.65/3.31/14.6M).  Last night, the other cable news networks were way behind, with Fox News’s THE INGRAHAM ANGLE at 0.23/0.38/2.9M, and MSNBC’s POST-DEBATE ANALYSIS at 0.12/0.20/1.6M (note that MSNBC listed the night’s RACHEL MADDOW SHOW as a “special” to keep it out of the show’s season average).  

In the night’s other televised battles, USA’s WWE SMACKDOWN dropped 0.08 to 0.57, with MIZ & MRS up 0.04 to 0.30, and CHRISLEY KNOWS BEST down 0.06 to 0.29 (the latter two switched timeslots).  Discovery’s SHARK WEEK continued with AIR JAWS STRIKES BACK at 0.50, SHARKWRECKED at 0.46, LAWS OF JAWS at 0.45, and SHARK AFTER DARK at 0.30.  Bravo’s REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS lost 0.09 to 0.50.  VH1’s BLACK INK CREW gained 0.07 to 0.41.  A&E’s off-night LIVE PD was at 0.37, followed by the premiere of 60 DAYS IN NARCOLAND at 0.25.  TNT’s ANIMAL KINGDOM rose 0.05 to 0.32.  TBS’s THE DETOUR climbed 0.07 to 0.31.  TLC’s OUTDAUGHTERED edged up 0.02 to 0.27, with a pre-show hour at 0.17.  On ID, TIL DEATH DO US PART dropped 0.06 to 0.26, and WEB OF LIES was down 0.06 to 0.23.  MTV’s EX ON THE BEACH slipped 0.02 to 0.25.  On HGTV, GOOD BONES ticked down to 0.25, HOUSE HUNTERS lost 0.03 to 0.19, and HOUSE HUNTERS INTL was down 0.07 to 0.18.  Paramount’s INK MASTER ticked up to 0.24.  Food Network’s CHOPPED dipped 0.04 to 0.18, and CHOPPED JR was down 0.03 to 0.16.  BET’s TALES grew by 0.02 to 0.17.  FX’s POSE was off by 0.03 to 0.15.  OWN’s AMBITIONS ticked down to 0.13.  On Lifetime, DANCE MOMS fell 0.05 to 0.13.  On Comedy Central, DRUNK HISTORY slipped 0.02 to 0.12, ALTERNATINO ticked up to 0.09, and the late-night LIGHTS OUT was steady with Monday’s premiere at 0.11.  Freeform’s GOOD TROUBLE dropped 0.03 to 0.09.  Off the chart, WGN’s THE DISAPPEARANCE was at 0.03/135K.
