NETWORK FINALS:  MODERN FAMILY gained 0.1 in final numbers.

CABLE HIGHLIGHTS:  FX’s AMERICAN HORROR STORY typically takes a sharp dip after its season premiere (last year it dropped 0.38 to 1.07), and 1984 was no exception, down 0.32 to 0.68.  On Comedy Central, SOUTH PARK returned with new episodes at 0.55 (down 0.11 from the 2018 premiere), with lead-out CRANK YANKERS at 0.27.  On VH1, BASKETBALL WIVES ticked up to 0.51, and BLACK INK CREW was at 0.47/0.32 compared to last week’s 0.47/0.33.  MTV’s THE CHALLENGE dropped 0.06 to 0.36.  On another big night for news, CNN’s CUOMO PRIME TIME had the lead at 0.34/0.48/1.8M (CNN tends to jump when events transcend the partisan fans of Fox News and MSNBC), with MSNBC’s RACHEL MADDOW SHOW at 0.32/0.54/3.5M, and Fox News’s TUCKER CARLSON TONIGHT at 0.29/0.50/3.7M.  On USA, WWE NXT fell 0.11 to 0.32, and the series finale of SUITS was down a tick to 0.19.  On FXX, the season premiere of IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA was at 0.28, down a tenth from the 2018 premiere, followed by the series premiere of CAKE at 0.08.  Discovery’s EXPEDITION UNKNOWN gained 0.04 to 0.27.  History’s FORGED IN FIRE dropped 0.06 to 0.26.  On HGTV, PROPERTY BROTHERS ticked down to 0.26, HOUSE HUNTERS lost 0.05 to 0.21, and HOUSE HUNTERS INTL was down 0.04 to 0.20.  On Food Network, GUY’S GROCERY GAMES ticked up to 0.23.  TBS’s FULL FRONTAL was steady at 0.23.  On ID< THE MURDER TAPES ticked up to 0.20, and HOMICIDE HUNTER was down 0.02 to 0.19.  Bravo’s REAL HOUSEWIVES OF DALLAS shed 0.03 to 0.19.  WGN’s DOG’S MOST WANTED fell 0.04 to 0.11.  OWN’s DAVID MAKES MAN dipped 0.02 to 0.06.
