SHOWBUZZDAILY’s Top 25 Wednesday Cable Originals (& Network Update): 4.15.2015

NETWORK UPDATE:  We posted a detailed network update yesterday afternoon, but here’s a quick reminder.  (Note:  we know that some of you have requested posting of the more specific afternoon numbers as we did yesterday, but there are issues in trying to do that on a regular basis.  We’re looking into whether it’s something we can incorporate.)  There were 0.1 bumps for CRIMINAL MINDS, THE MIDDLE, THE GOLDBERGS, SUPERNATURAL and the rerun MYSTERIES OF LAURA.

Ratings in key demos for the Top 25 original cable telecasts (plus a few other lower-rated but noteworthy programs):

Discovery’s DUAL SURVIVAL dropped 0.12 from last week, but its 0.60 was still enough to hold onto the top slot on Wednesday cable.  Lead-out SURVIVORMAN BIGFOOT was up 0.05 to 0.42.  ESPN’s NBA doubleheader on the last night of the regular basketball season was at 0.56 for the late game (up 0.08 from last week) and 0.30 earlier in the evening (down 0.05).  MTV’s CATFISH slid 0.05 to 0.54, and a lead-out special was at 0.46.  On Lifetime, LITTLE WOMEN LA: TERRAS LITTLE FAMILY was at 0.50/0.41, down from last week’s twin 0.58s, and LITTLE WOMEN NY ticked up to 0.43.  MILLION DOLLAR LISTING (Bravo) was at 0.48.  On A&E, STORAGE WARS was down more than a tenth to 0.39 from last week’s pair of episodes, and SHIPPING WARS was down 0.01 to 0.37.  YOUNG & HUNGRY (ABCFamily) dropped 0.07 to 0.34, and FREAK OUT stayed at 0.13.  THE AMERICANS (FX) lost last week’s bounce, down 0.08 to 0.27.  BIG TIME IN HOLLYWOOD FL (Comedy Central) didn’t have its WORKAHOLICS lead-in last night, and dropped 0.07 to 0.20.  On VH1, WALK OF SHAME SHUTTLE and BARELY FAMOUS each gained a hundredth, respectively to 0.08 and 0.07.  BROADCHURCH (BBCAmerica) was up the same amount, to 0.05.

TV Land and Nick At Nite are continuing to experiment with simulcasts, last night of HOT IN CLEVELAND, SOUL MAN and INSTANT MOM.  In 18-49s, CLEVELAND scored 0.22 on Nick and 0.16 on TV Land, compared with 0.19 last week on TV Land alone, and SOUL MAN was at 0.22/0.17, compared to last week’s 0.18.  INSTANT MOM was at 0.22 on Nick At Nite, and 0.11 on TV Land.  As we saw with YOUNGER on Tuesday, the demos of the two networks are strikingly different, as CLEVELAND had a relatively strong 0.34 with F12-34s but just 0.08 with M50+ on Nick, reversing that on TV Land, where those 2 demos were at 0.13/0.41.  Clearly exposing these shows to the audiences of the other network is getting some attention from new demos, and so far without weakening the rating on the original network.  It’s a result worth keeping an eye on.
