THE SKED: Cable Ratings September 13-19

>

On cable this past week, NFL football was again the top-rated program, and Jersey Shore was in second place, as usual.  But tying for second was the Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen, which aired 30 minutes after the first Sheen-less Two and a Half Men was broadcast.
Even the repeat of the Roast (airing immediately after the original telecast) managed to place in the top 10 of weekly cable programs.
Breaking Bad came close to making last week’s chart (hitting a 1.0 Adult 18-49 rating), but the AMC drama fell back to 0.7.  It was one of the few cable dramas to go up against the Emmy Awards Sunday night, a gamble that did not pay off.  This week, the acclaimed HBO drama Boardwalk Empire premieres Sunday night from 9 to 11 pm.
