It really takes some doing to have ratings too low for CW on Friday nights, but CULT pulled it off, yanked from the network’s schedule with almost half of its episodes still unaired.  (Last week Cult had a 0.2 rating in 18-49s and was watched by a total of 622,000 viewers.)  For the rest of the season, the Friday 9PM slot will be filled with reruns of THE CARRIE DIARIES and the network’s upcoming game show OH SIT, with both possibly being tried out for a Friday berth next season.

Speaking for fans of The Vampire Diaries, and in light of the fact that “dead” on that show doesn’t necessarily mean permanently dead, one wonders if fan-favorite character Alaric (played by newly-former Cult star Matt Davis) might make his way back to that show, especially since Vampire is likely to be depleted by the loss of several featured characters to spin-off The Originals.  Meanwhile, there are no current plans to air the discarded episodes of Cult or resolve its mysteries, which may mean there are 622,000 annoyed people in TV-land today.
