THE SKED: CW Finds “Beauty & the Beast” Lovely Enough

This is the time of year when tiny upticks in the ratings are taken for signs of health, and thus last night’s 0.1 increase for BEAUTY & THE BEAST bought it a full season back-order today, much as the previous night’s stunted Chicago Fire increase had done at NBC.  Beauty, to be fair, is on the upper end of CW ratings even at a level of 0.6-0.7–but that’s with the network’s best lead-in, The Vampire Diaries, usually scoring double that in the previous hour.  The likelihood is that there are so many leaks in CW’s schedule that the network decided Beauty was doing well enough, as with last season’s Secret Circle, and if the ratings don’t increase, it can be replaced with something more promising next season.
