THE SKED: FOX Midseason Changes

FOX has announced some changes to its midseason line-up, mostly affecting Tuesdays.

GLEE returns to Tuesdays 8PM on February 25, after airing its last Thursday episode sometime before January 16.  It leads into a single sitcom hour of NEW GIRL/BROOKLYN NINE-NINE.  THE MINDY PROJECT takes a long break following its January 28 episode, returning when Brooklyn has run out of episodes on April 1.  That doesn’t bode particularly well for a third season of Mindy, but it’s in better shape than DADS, which vanishes from the schedule on Feb. 11 and isn’t heard of again.  (Presumably it could fill in on Fridays for a faltering RAISING HOPE or the new ENLISTED.)

On Thursdays, RAKE will run as previously announced at 9PM starting January 23, but it’s lost its plum launching pad behind the NFC Championship Game the preceding Sunday.  That slot will instead go to the season premiere of THE FOLLOWING, which airs again the next night in its regular Monday 9PM slot.  This is being explained as due to Following‘s greater appeal to the male football audience than the softer Rake, but you have to wonder if the disappointing numbers for Almost Human this week have FOX worried about Following getting off to a slow start with that as its lead-in.
