Few were pining for CW’s returning shows.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis follows the chart.
CW: The prospect of a final season didn’t entice fans of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES to return, as the show premiered at 0.4, down 0.2 from last fall’s Thursday premiere (although consistent with what it had been doing on Fridays later in the season). CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND moved to Fridays at a painful 0.2, down 0.1 from last year’s Monday series premiere.
ABC: LAST MAN STANDING was steady at 1.1, but DR KEN needed treatment, down 0.1 to 0.8. SHARK TANK lost 0.1 to 1.2, and 20/20 gained 0.1 to 0.9.
CBS: MACGYVER (steady), HAWAII 5-0 (down 0.1) and BLUE BLOODS (down 0.2) were all at 1.1.
FOX: HELL’S KITCHEN stayed at 1.0, and THE EXORCIST rose 0.1 to 0.8.
NBC: CAUGHT ON CAMERA was up 0.1 to 0.7, and DATELINE held at 1.0.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL occupies two networks tonight, and SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE features host Tom Hanks and musical guest Lady Gaga, while BBCAmerica premieres oddball mystery series DIRK GENTLY’S HOLISTIC DETECTIVE AGENCY. On Sunday, AMC will happily pull back the curtain on a new season of THE WALKING DEAD.
