Christmas season has definitely arrived for the networks.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
NBC: The only network to air fresh episodes of its regular schedule gained no advantage from the weak competition. DATELINE was down 0.2 to 1.3, GRIMM fell 0.1 to 1.2, and the virtually canceled CONSTANTINE slumped by 0.2 to 0.9, which won’t bolster its case for returning next fall. (Its run has been curtailed to the current 13-episode order, and one imagines its only real chance to come back would require its studio Warners to offer the network a steeply reduced license fee.)
ABC: The only new show was 20/20 (down 0.4 to 1.2), which followed reruns at 0.9/1.1.
CBS: A new episode of THE AMAZING RACE fell 0.2 to 1.0, followed by reruns of FROSTY THE SNOWMAN (1.1) and YES, VIRGINIA (0.7), and a rerun HAWAII 5-0 (0.7.)
FOX: Reruns at 0.7/0.4.
CW: A night of holiday reruns: GRANDMA GOT RUN OVER BY A REINDEER (0.4), KUNG FU PANDA (0.3) and MERRY MADAGASCAR (0.3).
ABC has COLLEGE FOOTBALL tonight and NBC airs the NATIONAL DOG SHOW, with reruns elsewhere. On Sunday, CBS drops the final season of THE MENTALIST into the GOOD WIFE slot, FOX only has new episodes of BROOKLYN NINE-NINE and BOB’S BURGERS, and Showtime gives HOMELAND and THE AFFAIR the week off. AMC should be even bigger than usual with the midseason finale of THE WALKING DEAD.

SHOWBUZZDAILY FRIDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 8.21.2015
On another night riddled with football preemptions and likely to be adjusted by Monday numbers, there was little to say. ABC’s WE DAY special went largely unseen at 0.4, and the night’s original 20/20, down 0.2 to 0.7, barely outraged its SHARK TANK rerun lead-in. NBC’S DATELINE won the…
