A rough night for most of the networks.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis follows the chart.
CBS: MACGYVER fell 0.3 to 0.9, HAWAII 5-0 was down 0.2 to 1.1, and BLUE BLOODS lost 0.1 to 1.1.
ABC: LAST MAN STANDING and DR KEN returned down 0.1 from a week off, respectively to 1.1 and 0.8. SHARK TANK was down 0.2 to 1.1, while 20/20 held steady at 0.9.
NBC: An unusually light-hearted episode of GRIMM resisted the tide and rose 0.1 to 0.8, while EMERALD CITY remained at 0.6, and DATELINE was up 0.1 to 0.8.
FOX: ROSEWOOD dropped 0.1 to 0.6, and SLEEPY HOLLOW remained at 0.5.
CW: THE VAMPIRE DIARIES (0.4) and REIGN (0.2) were steady.
CBS is usually considered the most conservative of the broadcast networks, and rightly so, but it’s trying something revolutionary tomorrow night: although an edited version of the series premiere for its new series THE GOOD FIGHT will air on the linear network, the remaining 9 episodes will be available exclusively on the All Access digital platform. More traditionally, NBC is airing a 90TH ANNIVERSARY special about itself, while FOX has the season finale of SON OF ZORN. On cable, Showtime launches Season 2 of BILLIONS, HBO premieres both drama BIG LITTLE LIES and comedy CRASHING, and E! ends the current season of (already-renewed) THE ROYALS.
