The highest rated show on network TV last night was the venerable BLUE BLOODS.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis follows the chart.
CBS: Airing a regular line-up after 2 weeks of NCAA preemption, CBS saw little change: THE AMAZING RACE was up 0.1 to 1.1, while HAWAII 5-0 and BLUE BLOODS were steady at 1.1/1.2.
FOX: The next-to-last SLEEPY HOLLOW (of the season, at least) held at 0.7. HELL’S KITCHEN returned at 0.8.
NBC: After a rerun CAUGHT ON CAMERA at 0.7–the same as last week’s new episode–GRIMM remained at 0.7, and DATELINE lost 0.1 to 0.9.
CW: THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and THE ORIGINALS returned after a month-long hiatus, with VAMPIRE up 0.1 to 0.5 and ORIGINALS steady at 0.4.
ABC: The first 2 hours of the night were reruns topped by 1.0 for SHARK TANK, then 20/20 gained 0.1 to 1.0.
FIGURE SKATING on NBC is the best any network can do tonight, which will be dominated by TBS’s coverage of the NCAA TOURNAMENT Final Four. CBS has the ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS telecast on Sunday, but the night will belong to AMC and the season finale of THE WALKING DEAD. At a far less exalted level, Showtime will also have a season finale for its hit SHAMELESS.
