Pending final numbers, the AMERICAN IDOL finale slid past the season’s penultimate THE VOICE.

DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).

ABC:  The AMERICAN IDOL finale rose 0.3 from Sunday to 1.6.  The final episode of the short DANCING WITH THE STARS cycle began the night with a 0.1 bump to 1.1.

NBC:  THE VOICE dropped 0.1 from last Monday to 1.5.  RUNNING WILD was down 0.1 to 0.7.

CBS:  Surrounded by 1.1-0.8 reruns, the season finale of MAN WITH A PLAN was steady with last week at 1.0, which was down 0.1 from the 2017 finale.  ELEMENTARY fell 0.1 to 0.5.

FOX:  The MISS USA pageant lost 0.2 from last year’s edition (on a Sunday) to 0.6.

CW:  SUPERGIRL (0.5) and IZOMBIE (0.3) were steady.

The 9-season run of THE MIDDLE ends tonight, and there are season finales for ROSEANNE, SPLITTING UP TOGETHER, FOR THE PEOPLE, NCIS, THE VOICE and THE FLASH.

COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
