NOTE: Programming on ABC and CW was pre-empted by local coverage of MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL, and numbers for both networks will likely decline in finals this afternoon.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary live+same day key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
ABC: Even with inflation by the football preemptions, the network seems to have gotten what it wanted from the change in host on DANCING WITH THE STARS, as the season premiere is currently at 1.3, up 0.3 from the 2019 premiere. A VOMO special to promote voting was at 0.4.
CBS: LOVE ISLAND was steady at 0.4, bookended by sitcom reruns at 04/0.4 and a BULL rerun at 0.3.
NBC: AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR lost 0.1 to 0.5, and DATELINE held at 0.4.
FOX: A run of the movie PATRIOTS DAY at 0.3.
CW: The new WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY, the rerun, and a new PENN & TELLER: FOOL US are all currently at 0.2.
Tonight, ABC’s 20/20 hosts a special Presidential town hall.
COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 live+same day ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
Note: The fast affiliate-based ratings below measure what aired on network affiliates in 210 U.S. markets from 8-11 pm Eastern & Pacific or 7-10 pm Central & Mountain. The numbers are some combination of the network schedule and any pre-emptions (such as local news or weather coverage). Accurate program ratings will be available this afternoon with the broadcast finals.
