UPDATED: THE SKED CABLE/NETWORK SCORECARD – 3/17/14

AFTERNOON UPDATE:  After adjustment, THE VOICE went up 0.1 and THE BLACKLIST went down by the same amount (in the latter case, negating its small climb from 2 weeks ago).  Also up by 0.1:  DANCING WITH THE STARS and 2 BROKE GIRLS, in both cases raising the shows slightly above their lows.

MONDAY CABLE:  A move back to 10PM didn’t help BATES MOTEL (A&E), which fell for the 2d consecutive week, this time down 0.2 to 0.7.  DALLAS (TNT), however, rose 0.1 to 0.5.  SWITCHED AT BIRTH (ABCFamily) slipped 0.1 to 0.5, and THE FOSTERS was also down 0.1 to 0.4.  ARCHER (FX) was also at 0.4.  TEEN WOLF (MTV) held at 0.8.  On VH1, BASKETBALL WIVES was up 0.1 to 1.0, while SINGLE LADIES stayed at 0.8.  WWE (USA) was up slightly in its first hour, then down in hours 2-3, at 1.4-1.5.  Both SWAMP PEOPLE (History) and REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS (Bravo) were down 0.1, to 0.9 and 0.8.

The music slowed for ABC.

Daily Comp 3way 2014 Mon Mar 17

ABC:  The spring premiere of DANCING WITH THE STARS tied its all-time low premiere at 2.5 (that was 2 years ago–last year the premiere didn’t have to compete with The Voice, so it had a sizable 0.6 bump). CASTLE rose 0.2 from its low 2 weeks ago (it was preempted last week for The Bachelor post-show) to 1.8.

NBC:  THE VOICE was happy to see Dancing back instead of last week’s Bachelor finale, rising 0.3 to 4.0.  That pushed THE BLACKLIST up 0.1 from 2 weeks ago (preempted last week for the Believe preview) to 2.8.

CBS:  An extremely deft HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER–a reminder of how good the show’s writing has been over the years–was up 0.2 at 2.9.  However, 2 BROKE GIRLS, a rerun (along with MOM) last week, fell half a point from 2 weeks ago to a new series low 2.1.  MIKE & MOLLY, even with new shows on either side of it, could only tie last week’s series low 1.8.  Mom was at a new series low, down 0.2 from 2 weeks ago to 1.8.  INTELLIGENCE dropped 0.2 to tie its series low 1.1.

FOX:  An increasingly ugly night, as BONES fell 0.3 to 1.4, no better than it had been doing on Fridays, and THE FOLLOWING still hasn’t hit bottom, dropping 0.1 for yet another new series low at 1.4.  Both of these shows have been renewed for the 2014-15 season.

CW:  The move of THE TOMORROW PEOPLE to Mondays did nothing for the show, which tied its last Wednesday at 0.4.  That was, however, considerably better than last week’s 0.2 for Beauty & the Beast in the new slot.  STAR-CROSSED held at 0.3.

ABC preempts Agents of SHIELD tonight for a MARVEL: ASSEMBLING THE UNIVERSE special, and FOX re-airs its post-Super Bowl NEW GIRL.  Apart from that, the networks are all new.
