Monday ratings last night, last year and last week:

NBC debuted Million Second Quiz to a 1.7 adult 18-49 rating last night, close to what American Ninja Warrior had been doing in the hour the past few weeks.  The show declined slightly from a 1.7 in the 8:00 half hour to a 1.6 at 8:30.  The decline is not particularly severe, but the outlook for the show would be much more positive if it done the exact same mediocre 1.7 rating in the hour but increased a few tenths at 8:30, for example.  For the night, NBC was down 5% from last week and down a big 62% from the sme Monday last year when The Voice premiered early.

CBS and ABC are currently tied for first on the night with an unimpressive 1.4 rating from 8-11 pm, but both networks are subject to revisions in the official nationals this afternoon.  CBS’s schedule was disrupted by the Men’s Final of the US Open tennis championship, which ended around 8:52 pm.  The exact timings of the rest of the schedule are approximate (CBS dropped one comedy and the shows scheduled for 9-11 pm started 22 to 23 minutes late).  Over at ABC, their numbers are inflated by NFL football in Philadelphia, where ABC’s WPVI carried the Eagles-Redskins game locally over the air (aired nationally on ESPN).  ABC’s ratings could come down one or two tenths of a rating point in the official nationals.
