Viewers have started to exit the season before it’s even ended, as neither premieres nor finales excited anyone last night.
NBC: THE VOICE, as usual, won the night for NBC, but with its lowest-rated Monday episode ever, a 3.4 that was down 0.4 from last week. In that context, REVOLUTION looked good by holding steady at 1.9.
CBS: The series finale of RULES OF ENGAGEMENT, at 1.8, was down 0.3 from its last new episode and couldn’t even beat the 2.1s for reruns of 2 BROKE GIRLS and MIKE & MOLLY (note: the latter was a last-minute substitution because the scheduled season finale featured a tornado storyline). HAWAII 5-0‘s season finale was up 0.2 from last week to 2.0, but that was still down 0.7 from last year’s season finale.
ABC: After the Monday finale for DANCING WITH THE STARS was up half a ratings point from last week to 2.5 (off 0.4 from last season’s Monday finale), the premiere of MOTIVE had an unremarkable 1.4, down about 0.6 from recent levels for Castle in that timeslot.
FOX: The network’s dump of THE GOODWIN GAMES did a dismal 0.7 in its debut, about the same as the reruns that surrounded it.
CW: 2 episodes of OH SIT came in at 0.3/0.2.
Tonight’s line-up features the season finales for DANCING WITH THE STARS and GRIMM, while CBS is already in summer rerun mode.
