>With CBS Monday in repeats, FOX moved into first place Monday night and can point to a promising second episode rating for Alcatraz. The Bachelor had a relatively good night for ABC, although Castle failed to take advantage of the reality lead in.
Also, the official ratings for Sunday are in and, as expected, the NFC Championship coverage on FOX came up to a 21.4 rating from 7:00-10:45 pm ET after time zone adjustment. More coverage of the final weekly numbers later this morning. For now, back to Monday night’s fast nationals.

FOX won Monday night (mostly thanks to CBS being in repeats), but a win is a win. House did an okay 3.1 rating at 8 pm, while the new drama Alcatraz did well in its second outing, only one tenth lower than its House lead in and down only three tenths from its premiere. Last year on this night, FOX averaged a 3.1 rating with House (3.7) and Lie to Me (2.5).

ABC moved into second place with a cycle-high 2.6 rating for The Bachelor, although Castle was not able to cash in on the higher lead in and finished toward the low end of its ratings range for originals this year. Last year on this night (Monday, January 24, 2011), ABC averaged a 2.7 rating: The Bachelor (2.9) and Castle (2.4).

In repeats, CBS fell to third place Monday. The Eye network was down a touch from a similar night of repeats last year, mostly due to declines at 9:00 and 9:30.
