NBC and FOX battled to a tie last night with a good mix of original programming.  ABC was in the hunt until 10 pm, when the atrocious Glass House destroyed any momentum.

NBC aired more U.S. Olympics Trials from 8-9 pm (this time swimming, featuring a rare loss by Michael Phelps) and scored a 1.9 preliminary 18-49 rating.  America’s Got Talent hit a 3.0 rating from 9-10 pm.  (Last week was a 2.9 at a special 8 pm time).  American Ninja Warrior averaged a 2.0 at 10 pm, identical to last week’s two-hour 9-11 pm telecast.  For the night, NBC averaged a 2.3 from 8-11 pm (matching last week’s summer Monday high).

FOX also scored a 2.3 for the night from the reliable Hell’s Kitchen (2.3) and MasterChef (2.2).

ABC averaged a 2.2 for the Bachelorette (similar to the last three telecasts — a 2.2 on June 4 and a 2.3 on June 11 and 18).  But The Glass House, which premiered to a wobbly 1.5 last week, slumped to a 1.2 this week.  Again, a new batch of samplers bailed out as the show revealed itself: 2.5 rating at 9:30 for the rose ceremony of Bachelorette, 1.4 rating at 10:00 for the first half hour, and 1.1 rating at 10:30 for the final half hour.  You know you are in trouble creatively when American Ninja Warrior looks like art in comparison.  For the night, ABC finished in third with a 1.9 rating.

CBS averaged a 1.2 for its repeat Monday lineup, down from a 1.4 the last two Monday nights.
