Until this summer’s Under the Dome, the list of successful scripted summer shows on the broadcast networks was a short one.  In fact, in recent years it’s consisted mainly of ABC’s Canadian cop drama ROOKIE BLUE.  Blue isn’t anywhere near Dome‘s current level in the ratings (so far this season it’s been in the low 1s among 18-49s, although it does draw a decent 5M+ in the older Total Viewers measure).  But that’s good enough for summer, and the show is quite sturdy dramatically.  Today ABC renewed the series for a 5th season in 2014, helpful early notice because Blue airs first in Canada and actually starts production quite a few months before we see it here.
