The aftereffects of Sandy are still being felt at the TV networks, where schedules over the next several days have undergone several last-minute changes.
Tonight, both ABC and NBC will preempt their 10PM programming for storm specials. (This was going to be an odd night for NBC anyway, since a 2-hour THE VOICE was pushing GO ON and THE NEW NORMAL to the unusual 10PM hour.)
On Wednesday, as a result of its Thursday changes (see below), NBC will substitute a new episode of 30 ROCK for the previously scheduled ANIMAL PRACTICE. This will also potentially help GUYS WITH KIDS, which is waiting for Practice to go away so it can air with its new WHITNEY lead-in.
On Thursday, NBC is airing a 2-hour rerun of last night’s The Voice, which due to the storm wasn’t seen in parts of the east coast. That will preempt the usual NBC sitcoms, except of course for the 30 Rock that’s now airing on Wednesday. (Which also happens to be an election-themed episode, so it would have lost any topicality a week later.)
Got that?
