THE SKED: “Sleepy Hollow” Keeps Its Head For Another Season

The first back order of the 2013-14 TV season… is a renewal.

SLEEPY HOLLOW was only intended to run half a season this year, splitting the Monday 9PM timeslot with the return of The Following, and since it’s been a big success, with three consecutive ratings at a 3 or higher in 18-49s and very healthy DVR results, rather than shoehorn a spring run for the show into the schedule, FOX has jumped ahead and renewed the show for 2014-15.  The network has plenty of time to decide whether to retain the short-season structure next year, or to move the show elsewhere on the schedule; meanwhile, this will give Sleepy producers a chance to start planning their storylines and writing staff far in advance.

With the door open for pick-ups, expect NBC to announce a back-order for The Blacklist quickly, and possibly one for Agents of SHIELD at ABC.
