Monday night’s Olympics coverage on NBC scored a solid 10.5 rating with Adults 18-49, just a tenth of a point off Beijing’s pace but well ahead of Athens and Sydney.

FOX went with repeats of Hell’s Kitchen Monday, averaging a 1.1 rating and making it the second place broadcast network in the shadow of the Olympics.  CBS averaged a 1.0 rating from 8-11 pm with repeats of its Monday schedule, about two tenths of a rating point below the normal repeat performance.  ABC aired original episodes of Bachelor Pad (1.1 rating) and Glass House (0.6), combining for a weak 0.9 rating for the night and driving both shows to season lows.

The London Summer Games through four nights are now running half a rating point ahead of Beijing’s four-night average.

Tonight Swimming continues (Tonight’s storyline: Can Michael Phelps get back on track and dominate his signature event, the 200M Butterfly?  How much screen time will his mother command?), and Gymnastics turns to the women’s team competition (Can the U.S. women make up for the Keystone Kops performance by the men yesterday? Will reigning world champion Jordan Wieber shake off her failure to qualify for the individual all-around and show how great she can be in the quest for the team medal?).
