NBC: The BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS moved from ABC, and are currently at 2.1, down a half-point from last year’s final rating (down 0.2 from the 2017 preliminary number). DATELINE started the night with a preliminary 0.9 that would be up 0.3 from last week if it held.
ABC: After an AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS that was down 0.3 to 0.9, AMERICAN IDOL fell 0.4 to 1.3 (another live telecast that may come up in finals), and DECEPTION was down 0.1 to 0.6.
CBS: The 2-hour season finale of NCIS: LA was steady with last week’s 0.8, but down 0.4 from the 2017 finale, and the MADAM SECRETARY finale was steady with last week at 0.6, but down 0.1 from last year’s finale.
FOX: A night of finales included 3 episodes of BOB’S BURGERS, a rerun at 0.4, and non-consecutive half-hours at 0.7/0.8, compared to last year’s 0.8. THE SIMPSONS was at 0.8, down 0.1 from both last week and the 2017 finale. The final FOX episode of BROOKLYN NINE-NINE (which transfers to NBC next season) was at 0.8, steady with last week and up from last year’s 0.7/0.6 (on a Tuesday). FAMILY GUY was at 0.9, down 0.1 from both last week and 2017.
Tonight’s finales include AMERICAN IDOL, MAN WITH A PLAN and AMC’s THE TERROR.
