SHOWBUZZDAILY SUNDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 1.1.2017

FOX got the sampling it sought for THE MICK.

DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).

Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.

FOX:  THE MICK got the best platform the network could provide for a preview, airing after the national afternoon NFL game, and its 2.4 was roughly the same as the 2.3 THE SIMPSONS had a few weeks ago when a new episode followed that week’s game.  (That did, however, come after a much higher-rated game that gave THE SIMPSONS  5.0 lead-in rather than the 3.5 that THE MICK had.)  We’ll find out tomorrow night whether it will help the sitcom in its regular slot.  The preview was followed by a 1-hour midseason finale for BROOKLYN NINE-NINE at 1.4/1.2, better than it’s been doing on Tuesdays but in keeping with the 1.2/1.4 that SON OF ZORN and FAMILY GUY had when they aired after that post-NFL game SIMPSONS.  The night ended with an 0.9 FAMILY GUY rerun.

CBS:  RANSOM had a less successful preview at 0.9, a number that will probably look like good times once the show moves to Saturdays next week.  The evening began with 1.7 for 60 MINUTES, and RANSOM was followed by an 0.7 episode of PURE GENIUS and a 0.6 rerun of NCIS: LA.

ABC:  After a 1.0 AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS, a COUNTDOWN TO NICK episode of THE BACHELOR was slow at 0.8, and things didn’t improve with the return of TO TELL THE TRUTH at 0.7 (well below its 1.0/1.2 summer premiere ratings) and a burned-off CONVICTION at 0.4.

NBC:  The year’s final regular-season SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL has a preliminary 6.7, up 1.1 from last week’s early rating.

All the networks (except CW) are new tonight, with the official start of THE BACHELOR (and a JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE post-show) on ABC, the newly Terminator-hosted CELEBRITY APPRENTICE on NBC, and MASTERCHEF CELEBRITY SHOWDOWN on FOX.  On cable, Freeform follows the season premiere of SHADOWHUNTERS with the full 2-hour premiere of BEYOND.

COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
