Even Sundays are getting problematic for FOX.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
FOX: Returning after the World Series break, and without the day’s national late NFL game, BOB’S BURGERS started the night at 1.5. After that, THE SIMPSONS was at 2.0, down 1.5 from its admittedly unusually high-rated annual “Treehouse of Horrror” episode. BROOKLYN NINE-NINE fell 0.9 to 1.6. FAMILY GUY was at a wretched 1.2, down more than half from the 2.5 2 weeks ago (and even down 0.7 from the week before that) UPDATE: it appears that FAMILY GUY may have been a rerun last night, which would explain its rating–although it’s not clear why FOX has been airing so many FAMILY GUY reruns so early in the season this year, and MULANEY moved closer to the grave with a series low 0.7, down 0.4 from 2 weeks ago.
ABC: AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS doubled the 0.6 for the run of STAR WARS REBELS that ABC put in the 7PM slot last week. ONCE UPON A TIME was up 0.2 to 2.5. RESURRECTION lifted by 0.2 to 1.4, and REVENGE grew by 0.1 to 1.2.
CBS: The night started with a big 7.6 for the afternoon’s NFL FOOTBALL overrun, a New England/Denver showdown that was 1.8 higher than the previous week’s overrun. For the second consecutive week, the overrun lasted a full hour, and CSI aired a rerun out of primetime in most of the country. 60 MINUTES gained 0.9 to 3.3, and MADAM SECRETARY was up 0.3 to 1.8. However, THE GOOD WIFE lost 0.1 to 1.3.
NBC: The preliminary rating for SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL was 6.1, 0.3 below last week’s game.
ABC airs a pre-CMA music special in the CASTLE timeslot tonight; otherwise all the networks are in regular schedule mode.
COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
