UPDATED: THE SKED NETWORK/CABLE SCORECARD – 11/10/13

TUESDAY UPDATE:  SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL adjusted to a 7.8 rating, a bit lower than we’d estimated.  On CBS, once the football overrun was adjusted out, 60 MINUTES had a 3.1, considerably below our estimate, but the rest of the night was closer to the mark, with THE AMAZING RACE at 2.2, THE GOOD WIFE at 1.7 and THE MENTALIST at 1.4.  In addition, THE SIMPSONS and REVENGE both dropped an additional 0.1 to 1.8 and 1.3 respectively.

SUNDAY CABLE was, of course, dominated by THE WALKING DEAD (AMC), although it was down 0.6 from last week to a still-huge 6.2.  (And the 11PM rebroadcast added another 1.0 to its haul.)  Its stablemate TALKING DEAD was the #2 cable show of the night, down 0.1 to 2.2.  HOMELAND (Showtime) was down in both the 18-49 demo and total viewers, with 0.7/1.9M, while MASTERS OF SEX held at 0.3/1.1M, although both shows only get a small fraction of their total audience from initial airing.  BOARDWALK EMPIRE was steady at 0.8/2.1M, with EASTBOUND AND DOWN and HELLO LADIES under the radar.  WITCHES OF EAST END (Lifetime) was down to 0.6/1.5M, not what Lifetime wants to see as it now needs to fill the CLIENT LIST vacancy.  Meanwhile, KILLING KENNEDY (Nat Geo) demonstrated again the old age of Bill O’Reilly fans, as it had only an 0.7 among 18-49s but 3.4M total viewers.  The unscripted front was led, as usual, by REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA (Bravo) at 1.5/3.3M and KEEPING UP KARDASHIANS (E!) at 1.3/2.3M.

EARLIER:

NOTE:  The Sunday fast nationals below include ShowbuzzDaily adjustments of live NFL coverage on CBS and NBC to better reflect the eventual final ratings for the night (to be released tomorrow).

Daily Comparison 2013 Sun Nov 10 three way

NBC:  Showing the value of brand names even in the blockbuster world of SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL, we estimate that last night’s Cowboys vs. Saints game will be up 1.6 ratings points to 8.3 from the previous Sunday’s Colts vs. Texans showdown.  That increase alone is higher than the entire rating for most of NBC’s non-Voice, non-Blacklist schedule.

CBS:  Our estimates of final numbers have 60 MINUTES with an even bigger NFL bump than last week, up to a 4.0.  That may partly be attributable to the Denver vs. San Diego match-up, but also 60 Minutes was much in the news last week for its botched Benghazi report, and even without football its ratings may have climbed this week.  THE AMAZING RACE should be up 0.2 to 2.3, while THE GOOD WIFE should be up 0.1 to 1.7.  THE MENTALIST, which didn’t air last week due to the length of the football overrun (and didn’t start until 10:45PM in much of the country last night) should have a 1.5.

ABC:  All that football did no good for the ABC line-up.  ONCE UPON A TIME was down 0.2 to 2.1, REVENGE fell 0.3 to 1.4, and BETRAYAL dropped 0.2 to 0.8.  All of those numbers were at season or series lows.

FOX:  It was an oddly ugly night for FOX animation.  THE SIMPSONS dropped a whopping 0.5 from last week to 1.9, and that set the tone, as BOB’S BURGERS was down 0.3 to 1.5, FAMILY GUY fell half a ratings point to 2.0, and AMERICAN DAD lost 0.3 to 1.6.

As we continue in November sweeps, all the networks have fresh episodes of their regular line-ups tonight.  The most interesting number, though, may be for ESPN’s MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL, which features a mediocre football match-up (the 4-4 Dolphins against 0-8 Tampa Bay), but comes after a week where Miami has been all over the news for the Richie Incognito/Jonathan Martin mess (although neither of them will be playing).
