>A classic NFC match-up between the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys generated a preliminary 8.5 Adult 18-49 rating in the fast nationals. We are estimating that the game rating (starting at 8:30 pm) will go up to a 9.3, tying the Dallas-Philadelphia game on October 30 and just behind the 10.0 rating on September 18 for Philadelphia-Atlanta in the second week of the NFL season.

CBS enjoyed an up Sunday, thanks to a 4:15 pm NFL game which spilled into prime time (almost to 7:45 pm). The NFL coverage scored a 5.2 rating from 7:00-7:30 in the fast nationals, and CBS rated a 3.9 in the 7:30-8:00 half hour which was half NFL and half the first quarter of 60 Minutes in most of the country. The program ratings below are adjusted fast nationals for each series, which started at 41 minutes past each scheduled time.

FOX animation was back down to fairly low levels for the season. FOX had some regional football coverage at 7:00 pm, making that half hour a blend of football in some markets and Bob’s Burgers elsewhere (for a combined and hard to interpret 3.5 rating). At 7:30, The Cleveland Show repeat did a more normal 1.8 rating.

ABC had a mix of its regular schedule (from 7-9 pm) and a movie special, Charly and the Chocolate Factory, from 9-11 pm (a very weak 1.3 rating). The big news came at 8 pm with another series low for Once Upon a Time (for the third week in a row).
