SHOWBUZZDAILY THURSDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 8.23.2018

FOX’s new THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL deal kicked off.

DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).

Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.

FOX:  Unlike previous THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL broadcast deals, FOX’s begins with preseason games.  Last night’s network opener had a preliminary 1.7.

ABC;  After a GONG SHOW episode that was up 0.1 to 0.5 from its last airing 2 weeks ago, THE STORY OF THE ROYALS concluded at 0.5.

CBS:  BIG BROTHER is currently down 0.1 to 1.6.  It was preceded by sitcom reruns at 1.0/0.9, and followed by a SWAT rerun at 0.6.

NBC:  The season finale episodes of TRIAL & ERROR were at 0.4/0.4, compared to last week’s 0.5/0.4.  The night’s opening hour was an ELLEN’S GAME OF GAMES rerun at 0.7, and an SVU rerun at 10PM was at 0.4.

CW:  Reruns at 0.2/0.1.

Since there was only 1 national game last night, there will be plenty of local preemptions tonight for NFL PRESEASON games that will disrupt preliminary ratings.

COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.

CABLE RATINGS: Come back this afternoon for detailed demographic ratings for top cable programs from this day.
